Description: A walk from the village of Chetnole and its surrounding area, passing through villages of Melbury Osmond, Melbury Bubb and the parkland estate of Melbury House and wooded areas. Well trodden footpaths, tracks and road, only a couple of uphill bits and crossing the main road A37 a couple of times. Good views towards Somerset.
Important Bit!! - The pub at Chetnole closes at 2.30pm as does another pub I investigated nearby (which is just not good enough!). Set off time is 10.30 and NOT 10.45 in the hope that we may get a quick pint in before pub closes. If anyone has any other pub ideas on the day these would be much appreciated!
Start Point: Chetnole is off the A37 between Yeovil and Dorchester. Meet and park at the Church in Chetnole at the top end of the village. There is also a village hall nearby which has a car park. Please car share if possible.

Walks Programme

Leisurely - Gentle walk up to 8 miles, fairly flat, unchallenging terrain.
Moderate - Brisker walk from 6 to 12 miles, could have moderate ascents/descents, rougher terrain.
Strenuous - Taxing terrain and routes 10-15 miles, faster walking with possibly steep ascents/descents.
Technical - Long distance routes, very fast pace, or mountainous walks, for experienced and fit walkers only.
