Check the DYW Message Board for any last minute walk changes or information here. Start time is 24hr format. We usually start walks 15 minutes after meet time.

Description: This year we are heading down to the glorious Studland Beach for our picnic with plenty of time for swimming,beach games,eating lunch and generally chilling out. Will start with 4-5 mile walk around Studland Peninsula followed by extended lunch break before heading back to the car park/home. I shall be providing quiches and sausage rolls (as well as paper plates and cups), so please bring other food items to share such as salads, fruit, crisps, nuts, pizza, cakes etc etc.

Start Point: Knoll Beach Car Park.Cost: £8 per car for whole day.This CP may fill up quickly due to peak season so try and come early. Please, please try and car share with others coming from your area. Those coming from Poole/Bournemouth may wish to come by bus which is the No. 50 and goes from Poole Bus Station and from Bournemouth.Goes approx. once/hr. Any keen cyclists could take the Sandbanks Ferry at a cost of £1.80 return.If you take the Ferry by car please allow a lot of time as it is peak season.

Walks grading explained:

 Leisurely - Gentle walk up to 8 miles, fairly flat, unchallenging terrain.

 Moderate - Brisker walk from 6 to 12 miles, could have moderate ascents/descents, rougher terrain.

 Strenuous - Taxing terrain and routes 10-15 miles, faster walking with possibly steep ascents/descents.

 Technical - Long distance routes, very fast pace, or mountainous walks, for experienced and fit walkers only.
